About the artist

Henri Rousseau (1844-1910), known as "Le Douanier" (the customs officer), was a French self-taught painter associated with the naïve or primitive art movement. Rousseau's works, such as "The Sleeping Gypsy" and "The Dream," often depicted dreamlike and fantastical scenes with lush jungle settings. Despite his lack of formal training, Rousseau's vivid imagination and distinctive style earned him recognition and influence, particularly among avant-garde artists of the early 20th century.

Poster and frame quality

  • The frame is made of high quality wood. All parts of the frame are maximally secured, sealed and sanded.
  • The protective front sheet made of plastic ensures safe use, does not deform the image and reflects less light and finger marks than glass.
  • The print is applied to premium paper. Special ink is used for high-end posters. A machine that prints images of the latest generation of Epson.
